You've Got Male Models

A 20-year old prodigy heart surgeon, Chris Cahill, did not expect to share her apartment (or her life) with two aspiring male models when she finally gains her independence. A story in the process of their interesting (and equally hilarious!) adventures of three different individuals living in the present.

JournalWords

I write on a whim, and somewhere along the line, I have collected journals full of phrases and ideas that I use to spark a story. Got any ideas, feel free to share them. How would you interpret a JournalWord?

I ADORE THEM ALL!

Gladiators, Bad-ass priests, Robots, Demons, Cowboys, Demon-Cowboys, Fast-food cashiers, Ninjas, Butlers, Pirates, Sailors... The list goes on and they all make me swoon! (We are instant best buddies if you feel the same, just saying)

Bless

Albeit reluctantly, Sarah finds herself with the responsibility of raising an angel after he crashes from the sky. Sci-fi, supernatural, and a little silly.

Time Before Reinforcements Arrive

JournalWord: Beds not made for two.

***

He feels a light tap on his shoulder, but doesn't bother with it. Instead, he sighs quietly and pulls the blonde haired girl closer to him. The tap is a little harder now and a low groan escapes his lips.

The tapping is constant now and attempting to bruise his shoulder.

"Mr. Gerson?" He hears a voice whisper.

His eyes stir open, meeting the slightly blurry form of a nurse. At this moment, his eyes snap open, but instead of pushing away the girl he holds in his arms, he pulls her closer. His eyebrows scrunch down and his eyes narrow into a dangerous stare directed at the nurse.

She seems taken aback, to say the least.

"Leave." Ryan says quietly, although his voice is harsh and cold from being woken up.

She frowns. "Mr. Gerson, you're not supp-"

"Leave." Ryan barks, biting out his incisors.

Upon realizing his action could wake the sleeping blonde, he abruptly quiets, although his features harden menacingly. He scowls at the nurse as she frowns once more, his glare becoming deadly when she doesn't move. A sneer starts to slowly form on his lips, effectively disappearing when the nurse finally shuts the door behind her.

Ryan turns back to the girl in his arms, his grip relaxing as he takes in the wires attached to her. She looks so out of place, her content, slumbering form wrapped in IV drips and heart monitors. Her thin body is pressed against him, clinging to him in fistfuls of his shirt, leaving no room between them.

At least now she is asleep. She isn't in pain right now, and can finally rest after being constantly pained for four days. She is being tortured by her own body as her heart slowly fails.

Having her in his arms feels so right. He can be here for her now. And he'll make sure she makes it past every obstacle with his support.

He snuggles his face into her hair, looking forward to catching some more sleep before that wretched nurse comes back with reinforcements. Ryan closes his eyelids, thinking that at least this is a blissful moment.

But he still wishes this one-person hospital bed could hold two people, because, damn, he is squished.

I definitely have a fascination with the medical world. Damn you, Medical Sciences, for being so darn interesting!

Possessive people are just so cute :)

Basic Logic

JournalWord: Duodenum.

***

Some time later, Varence is casually walking down the stairs when he slips on a large puddle of blood.

He lands on the floor with a thud and finds himself face-to-face with someone's patella. He turns his head slightly to the left and regards an adrenal gland a few feet away. Beyond that, a kidney in another puddle of blood.

He notes that he is short on kidneys this month and straightens to pocket the kidney. Following the bloody trail of body parts, in search of the kidney's mate, he peers around a corner in the winding hallway.

A heavily bruised and bitten, but triumphant woman cackles as she swings something knobby and purple in the air above her head. Nori sprays droplets of blood onto the walls around her but doesn't take notice, as she's also soaked in drying blood.

"What is this called, Ishin?" Nori haughtily asks, wagging the purple body part in front of a lump on the floor.

"Duodenum," Ishin's severed head answers, sulkily.

"And this," Nori picks up something that is unmistakably Ishin's spleen. "How many of these are there?"

"One."

"So if Ishin has one spleen, and Nori takes it away, how many spleens does Ishin have?" She smirks and raises an eyebrow, tossing the spleen into the air to catch it in her palm.

"None."

"And if Nori has a spleen, and Ishin tries to take it away, how many spleens does Ishin have?"

"No fucking spleens," Ishin bites out, but hesitates at her menacing glare. "Ma'am."

If Varence had not long ago replaced his own heart, he might have felt a tiny flutter in his chest.

I like my little horde of zombies >.<!!

A little blood and gore can't hurt anyone, although I still can't stomach or watch horror films... So many conundrums! :D

Salves

JournalWord: Dampening the stink of stomach acid.

***

The scent hits her nose, and suddenly she can smell everything.
The thick, cloying salve that feels like it's gathering at the back of her mouth, the sourness of the binding agent she just applied to the wounds, and the heavy smell of raw meat. Human meat.

Very professionally, she sits back on her heels, wiping her hands on a length of bandage, swiveling away from her patient in a precise half-circle, and vomits.
He is at her side in an instant, slipping his hands around her shoulders to steady her so the wracking coughs don't knock her over. "Hey, are you okay?"

"It's nothing," she says, and sips a mouthful of the water he offers to rinse her teeth.
He kicks loose dirt over the incriminating spot with his foot after he turns her face into his shoulder so she can compose herself. He kicks more dirt on the spot, dampening the stink of stomach acid. "Are you sure?"

She lifts her head and pushes away from him, and he lets her go when she spares him a small smile. "Uh-huh. Just, you know," she trails off, turning back to her patient and picking up where she left off in wrapping a heavily burned arm, freshly skinned, in bandages.

His eyes soften and his voice whispers with a gentle tease. "Bothersome. It's not even morning."

Her back relaxes at his tease and he deems her fine for now. He continues his patrol of the open medical tent, regarding the harsh, hot, winds threatening to topple the tarps and poles into the scorching sands.

Something small to pass the time. This is a gentle story snippet of hard times.
I seem to have a thing for writing about those tied to the medical sciences, hahaha. How interesting. Learning something new about myself everyday :)
